Mary Esther needs a leader with integrity who prioritizes accountability.
My whole life has been about public service, and I want your vote so that I can put my energy and values to work for the good people of Mary Esther.
I am a staunch advocate of government accountability, and I believe Mary Esther has a long way to go in providing governmental transparency to the public.
As it is now, the City Council keeps no record of anything the City does or decides on during meetings. Council Members walk in already knowing the outcome to important issues before the public even gets a chance to comment.
Their entire process is conducted secretly, prior to public meetings. Citizens waste their time coming to speak, if even allowed to do so, at Council Meetings.
Here are some of my ideas to help this wonderful city prosper in the years to come:
-
Replacing the antiquated recording system in City Council Chambers. As it is now, the city only keeps records of meeting agendas, and cannot produce accurate records of public meetings. This is unacceptable.
-
Start a modern Cable TV or Government Access Channel media production for our local elementary school. With minimal investment, this could be done in partnership with local organizations, and would accurately record, preserve and broadcast all City Business as intended under the Sunshine Laws.
